On February 25, 2015, Women’s Community Clinic unveiled the D’Anne Quinton Reception Room, a dedication to a beloved friend of the Clinic and life-long advocate for women’s rights. The dedication came to fruition when her husband, soul mate, and best friend of 34 years, Jerry Spolter, organized their wide network of friends and family to raise $250,000 in tribute to D’Anne. We are deeply grateful to Jerry and to the many generous people who have donated in D’Anne’s honor.
D’Anne Quinton was 56 when she was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer and passed away two years later in 2008. D’Anne was known for her sense of adventure, style, laughter, and her enduring friendships. Her commitment to helping women lead healthier, happier, and productive lives was reflected in her ardent support of the Women’s Community Clinic. D’Anne would be honored to know that a part of her legacy will be to further women’s healthcare and reproductive rights.
As Kathy McNamara wrote, “She was my best friend –I miss her every day”. It brings us great pleasure to know that every woman who walks through the Clinic’s doors will be greeted by D’Anne’s beautiful smile and her warm, dynamic spirit.
Diana Taylor, a former board member of the Clinic, was close friends with D’Anne and and finds the dedication most fitting: “She would be honored to know that her name and character will grace the Clinic’s Reception Room to greet those underserved women in our community whose healthcare needs would otherwise go unmet.”
